Two Hospital Units Recognized for Creating Healthy Work Environments
The NCNA Hallmarks of Healthy Workplaces recognition program honored Durham Regional Hospital’s Endoscopy Services and Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU), during a recognition ceremony held Friday, November 30 in Raleigh. Guest speaker Carrie Houser James, president, Center for American Nurses congratulated the nurses and thanked them for their work in creating positive solution-focused work environments. Eileen Kohlenberg, president, NCNA and Dona Caine-Francis, chair, NCNA’s Professional Practice Advocacy Coalition and Hallmarks Task Force announced the recipients. MaryAnn Petrosky, nurse manager, Endoscopy Services and Paula Cates, nurse manager, PACU received the awards on behalf of their units. Both units presented photo slideshows showcasing their teams.

Durham Regional Endoscopy Services was recognized November 2007. The award was accepted by MaryAnn Petrosky, Nurse Manager.
