the Nurse Practitioner Spring Symposium! 2009 NPSS Registration is Online and Open!
This annual multi-day continuing education event is planned to provide participants with information about current trends in the clinical management of patients with specific problems, professional issues, and legislative issues affecting practice. While primarily designed for nurse practitioners, other advanced practice nurses such as clinical nurse specialists are also invited. There are networking opportunities with NPs from NC and the southeast US built into the schedule. It is a time to build new relationships and re-affirm old ones. Council decisions are made during luncheon business meetings. Register now!

Loretta Ford Scholarship

The Council has chosen a nurse practitioner student to receive a $1,000 Loretta Ford Scholarship almost annually since 1996. Applicants must be currently enrolled in a NC NP education program and be a current NCNA member.

In celebration of the anniversary of nurse practitioner existence in North Carolina and, in honor of the national nurse practitioner movement’s co-founder, Loretta Ford, the North Carolina Nurses Association (NCNA) Council of Nurse Practitioners established a scholarship program. LFS funds are administered by the North Carolina Foundation for Nursing. Selection of the recipient is determined by the Executive Committee of the Council of Nurse Practitioners. The recipient will also receive paid registration to the next annual NPSS.

The Loretta Ford Scholarship cycle has ended and will be available again in June.
