North Carolina Board of Nursing
(NC BON or BON) http://www.ncbon.org
NCNA has a close working relationship with the NC BON which includes council member participation when dealing with psychiatric-mental health practice matters. PMH APRN council representatives have worked with the BON on matters such as providing input for changes to rules and regulations, interpretation of scope of practice and clarification of psychotherapy practice by PMH APRNs.

APRN Coalition
The council is an active participant in the APRN Coalition, a group of advanced practice nurses composed of Clinical Nurse Specialists, Nurse Anesthetists, Nurse Midwives, and Nurse Practitioners along with representative from schools of nursing, the NC BON, and other relevant groups. The Coalition was formed over thirteen years ago to support advanced practice nursing in NC and to work toward bringing all APRNs under the sole authority of the BON. (Currently in this state, Clinical Nurse Specialists practice exclusively under the BON auspices and Nurse Practitioners are regulated by a Joint Sub-Committee of the Boards of Nursing and Medicine.) The three council members currently representing psychiatric-mental health advanced practice at the Coalition are:

- Current PMH APRN Council Chair: Victoria Soltis-Jarrett
- Member who has served five or more years on Coalition: Susan Simon
- Member also belonging to American Psychiatric Nurses Association: Ashley Walters

Other Group Affiliations
