Membership Cost

Membership Options

1. Full Membership (NCNA/ANA): When registered nurses join as a North Carolina Nurses Association (NCNA) and American Nurses Association (ANA) member, they automatically become a member at the state and national level. (See explanation at the bottom for Full; Reduced; or 62+Special.)

2. NCNA-Only Membership: When registered nurses join as an NCNA-Only member, the membership is state level only. You will not belong to ANA or have access to ANA.

*Please note APRNs must choose the APRN rate for both Option 1 and 2 below. A $50 contribution will be made to the APRN Advocacy Fund and 100% of the funds will be dedicated toward initiatives to benefit North Carolina APRNs. APRNs must select membership choice from the APRN Rate Section.

Explanation for above FULL Membership (NCNA/ANA) Categories:

Full:
  Employed full or part-time.

Reduced:
  A. Not employed and under age 62; or
  B. RN enrolled full-time in a nursing higher education program; or
  C. New graduate from a pre-licensure nursing education program.

62+ Special:
  A. 62 yrs or older and retired and not employed; or
  B. Totally disabled.


NCNA/ANA Members:

• Can vote in NCNA and ANA elections.
• Can serve as delegates to the ANA House of Delegates.
• Can be appointed/elected to serve at district/regional, NCNA, ANA or ANCC level.
• Have access to Members Only section of the NCNA/ANA websites.
• Receive all publications from NCNA/ANA including:
  Tar Heel Nurse, Inside NCNA, American Nurse, American Nurse Today.
• Receive member discounts on NCNA-District-Regional/ANA events.


NCNA-Only Members:

• Belong to NCNA and district/region.
• Can vote in NCNA and district/regional elections.
• Can be elected or appointed to serve at the NCNA and district/regional levels.
• Have access to the Members Only section of the NCNA website.
• Will receive the Tar Heel Nurse, Inside NCNA.
• Will receive all member discounts on NCNA or district/regional events.

NCNA Only Members will NOT be eligible to:
• Run for national office or vote to elect delegates to the ANA House of Delegates.
• Serve on ANA or ANCC committees or commissions.
• Receive any discounts on ANCC certification.
• Receive any ANA publications.
