Professional Practice Advocacy Coalition

Professional Practice Advocacy Coalition (PPAC)

The Professional Practice Advocacy Coalition (PPAC) serves as NCNA’s  organizational unit that addresses workforce advocacy issues for registered nurses. Current membership includes staff nurses, advanced practice nurses, nursing administrators, nursing educators and retired nurses. Contact NCNA for more information.

Regional PPAC Representatives
Each NCNA Region has a PPAC representative, appointed by the NCNA Regional Director in that geographic area. These Representatives:

  • take the pulse of the conditions in their areas which affect nursing practice; using the STEEP framework
  • establish a network of colleagues who provide information on issues and solutions to workforce problems
  • generate discussions about these topics at meetings where registered nurses are present
  • share PPAC and NCNA initiatives with these nurses, in collaboration with the NCNA Regional Director
  • exchange information with other PPAC Representatives and PPAC members to develop strategies which enhance the registered nurse workforce
