Senator Tom McInnis

Senator Tom McInnis has served in the North Carolina Senate since 2015, representing communities across central and southeastern North Carolina. A businessman, auctioneer, and former member of the Richmond County Board of Education, he has built a career dedicated to public service and strengthening North Carolina’s communities. Throughout his time in the General Assembly, Senator McInnis has been one of the most consistent champions of APRN Full Practice Authority in the North Carolina Senate, working across the aisle to reintroduce the legislation in every biennium. His longstanding support has made him one of NCNA's key legislative allies on expanding access to care and strengthening the healthcare workforce.

Representative Garland Pierce

Representative Garland Pierce has served in the North Carolina House of Representatives since 2025, representing Hoke and Scotland counties after previously serving in the General Assembly from 2005 to 2019. A pastor and longtime community leader, Rep. Pierce has dedicated his career to public service, advocating for stronger communities, expanded access to healthcare, and greater opportunities for North Carolinians. He has also been a supporter of the nursing profession, serving as a sponsor of the 2025 APRN Full Practice Authority legislation to help strengthen North Carolina’s healthcare workforce and improve patient access to care.
