NCNA Announces the
2008 NCNA Awards and Honors

 

NCNA Award for Nurse of the Year Packet
NCNA Hall of Fame Award Packet

Deadline for submission is June 1, 2008


These NCNA Awards and Honors are designed to recognize NCNA members who practice in a variety of settings and meet the criteria established for each of the following categories. The nominees should be recommended in the category where they spend the majority of their practice time.

Administration
• Uses innovative and creative management strategies
• Demonstrates excellence in leadership
• Serves as a role model
• Has positive impact on work setting

Education
• Uses innovative and creative teaching strategies
• Demonstrates excellence in knowledge of subject area
• Serves as a role model
• Has positive impact on students/staff/patients

Health Systems (informatics, entrepreneurs, consultants, Board of Nursing, infection control, discharge planning, utilization review, nurse recruiters, fi nancial reimbursement, health policy, case managers, etc.)
• Uses innovative and creative strategies in area of practice
• Demonstrates excellence in knowledge of area of practice
• Serves as a role model
• Has positive impact on area of practice

Practice
• Provides innovative and creative nursing care
• Demonstrates excellence in knowledge of practice area
• Serves as a role model
• Has positive impact on patients/peers/work setting

Research
• Demonstrates excellent research capabilities
• Establishes relevance of the research to the nursing profession
• Serves as a role model
• Demonstrates positive research impact

NCNA Hall of Fame Award
NCNA is accepting applications for inductees to the NCNA Hall of Fame. This recently established award is intended to be the pinnacle of recognition for a registered nurse with an extensive history of nursing leadership and achievements in North Carolina. Nominees for this prestigious award may be living or deceased.
