NCNA Special Projects Fund
The 2005 NCNA House of Delegates voted to establish a special projects fund to be used to fund projects which have been requested by various structural units, but because of limited monies in the NCNA operating budget have not been funded. Applications for funding Special Projects may be made four times a year to NCNA. NCNA structural units (district, regions, commissions, councils committees, etc) are eligible to apply.
All applications for Special Project(s) funding requests must meet the following criteria:
Demonstrate congruency with NCNA strategic goals. (Please see NCNA Strategic Goals.)
Positively impact structural units of NCNA or NCNA as a whole.
Identify measurable outcomes.
Submit a detailed budget.
Be submitted by the deadline of March 31, June 30, September 30 or December 31.
Note: The provision of scholarships to nursing students and registration fees for convention is not eligible for grants through the Special Projects Fund.
Outline of Application:
Submit a description of the project and its relationship to one of more of NCNA’s strategic goals.
Designate the primary and secondary contact for the project.
Describe how the project will impact NCNA.
List measurable outcomes. If the project lasts more than one year, you must submit anticipated outcomes for each year.
Submit a budget. If the project lasts more than one year, you must submit a detailed budget for each year. You must also indicate all funding sources that are available to assist with your project
If the project is from a structural unit, the unit leadership must co-sign the application.
There is no minimum amount for Special Projects funding requests. Requests may be funded at or less than the amount requested. Applicants with unfunded requests may reapply for the next funding cycle. Grants are renewable with submitted justification.
Final results of funded projects must be reported in writing at the year’s conclusions. If the funded request exceeds one year in duration, reports will be made annually. If one or more outcomes were not achieved, the requestor must indicate which were not achieved and why. If the funding goes beyond one year and the goals were not achieved, the requestor must submit a revised time line and the outcomes expected.
