“The Hunger and Health Coalition endorses the SAVE Act. While not a primary medical provider ourselves, our role as a charitable pharmacy puts us in direct contact with our area's free and charitable clinics. This means we witness firsthand the shortage of doctors in our area or willing to work in a nonprofit setting. Enabling nurses to take a greater role in patient care will both reduce the costs of providing healthcare but also help fill service gaps in rural communities where the availability of doctors is extremely limited.”
Elizabeth Young
Executive Director/Hunger and Health Coalition
This new endorsement makes the Hunger and Health Coalition the 14th organization outside the nursing profession to endorse the SAVE Act. No organizations outside of physicians groups currently oppose the legislation.
