Session Description: Western North Carolina continues to experience opioid death rates higher than the state. Registered Nurses encounter clients with substance use disorder (SUD) across all health care settings. As advocates for health equity, nurses need to be informed about best practices when addressing substance use disorders. This session highlights recent research findings about nurses’ perceptions of clients with substance use disorder as well as a crash course in best practices when working with clients experiencing SUD.
The North Carolina Nurses Association is accredited as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.
